It seems as though fashionistas are showing that they can go “green” without compromising their flare. Swedish Hasbeen, an eco-friendly Swedish line, is taking the Spring fashion scene by storm with their Braided Sky Highs. It’s a line of clogs, which are all the rave for this Spring and Summer, that are eco-friendly and look more wearable than their high-fashion counterparts. I think many people take for granted the things that can be done while saving the environment. Eco-friendly clothing doesn’t just mean customized t-shirts and recycled tote bags; it can be anything!. Mother Earth wants to look good so why shouldn’t we while saving her?

Sir Richards is taking customized condoms to another level! Their line of women and gay friendly condoms is set to hit shelves this summer. What makes them more eco-friendly then the next latex manufacturer? For every condom purchased they are donating one to a developing country. Also, the packaging for the condoms (not the actual latex) is recycled and they are looking to embed wildflower seeds in the box (talk about promotional planting!). Safe sex can help save the world after all!

“Octomom” Nadya Suleman has recently made a deal with PETA to post their ad for spaying and neutering pets on her lawn. The ad reads “ Don’t let your dog or cat become an “Octomom”. Always spay or neuter”. Wow! Even though the word choice is quite amusing, the issue is very important. I want to cry every time I see stray dogs or cats on the street with their offspring or pregnant. Those who own pets should take heed as well. Selling the litter is way easier than giving birth to it. Not only did “Octomom” get a $5000 check, but she also gets a months supply of veggie burgers and dogs. I’m sure they also threw in a few promotional t-shirts and logoed toys for the children. Way to go PETA and Octomom!

Canadian fashion house Preloved is turning the old into the new! By using reclaimed khakis, raincoats, and other pieces they are producing their Spring 2010 collection. Now Preloved fans can look good while helping Mother Nature! A customized t-shirt would surely look good with a lightweight skirt from the collection. Being an eco-friendly shopper is always in style.

Mother Nature is the creator of all things living and breathing. Humans, animals, and plants alike. This ad for the Foundation Nicholas Hulot is not only thought provoking, but touching. I didn’t know that leaving the light plugged up or on when I have no need for it could kill a dolphin. Now I know that it would be smarter to put my promotional candle to use. Many of us go on with our daily lives not thinking about how minor things that slip our mind can kill off a whole species.

This ad placed by Dubai Metro plays a “dirty” trick. The abandoned, dust ridden cars are probably thought to have been left behind by Dubai residents who have either left the country, been reported missing, or ditched their old wheels for some new ones. Quite the contrary, these cars have been left behind for the metro. I think the dirt tactic was quite smart seeing as how a custom bumper sticker would not do the job(cars+road=purpose defeated). All over the country, and now the world, people are parking their cars and opting for a ride on the train. It saves gas and decreases the amount of pollution being added to the air. And to keep the eco-friendly trend going, car owners should use a promotional car wash kit when it finally comes time to rid their car of the dirt acquired while they’ve been on the metro.

With National Agriculture Day just having passed this weekend, why not go out and do something good for the environment by planting something! Whether you feel like seeing a logoed plant (yes, it’s possible) in your yard, or even if you just feel like grabbing your custom gardening tools…go out and plant! The environment needs all the help we can give it, and you’ll being able to see how green your thumb is now that winter is officially over.
