Via Furniture Home Design

This nifty little pocket holds your iPhone, iPod Touch, or any other electronic device you desire to put in it. It is made from 100% industrial wool felt (approximately 85% factory excess wool and 15% mixed fibers) – which makes it a green product.

SIGG Aluminum Water Bottles

August 19, 2009

Back to school is just a few weeks away, so I’d like to highlight a promotional product category that’s perfect as a giveaway to high school and college students. SIGG is one of the world’s leading producers of high quality aluminum water bottles. SIGG is a quality brand name that has a high perceived value amongst younger people, which makes a perfect giveaway to teenagers and college students.

With a large imprint area, your logo won’t go unnoticed as these SIGG bottles are used repeatedly by your customers. Many schools and local businesses have used these promotional bottles in the past with much success due to their lightweight materials, reusability, and portability. Local businesses have found particular success by branding a call to action (like a phone number or email address) on the side of the bottle.

For maxiumum results, hand out SIGG bottles during the beginning of the year so it becomes the go-to water bottle for the year. With repeat uses, your brand sinks into their minds, and they become grateful for such a thoughtful gift.

Garbage Chair

August 18, 2009

This may be the most eco-friendly piece of furniture that I have ever seen, though I don’t know how comfortable a chair filled with garbage would be (my guess is not very). California College of the Arts student Nick Demarco designed this interesting piece of work and dubbed it the XS chair. You can fill it with pretty much anything like old cans or old clothes. Personally, I’d prefer using old cloth and rags for greater comfort – but that’s just me.

I’m taking this as a piece of art rather than an actual design. I don’t think many people would want a garbage chair in their homes.

Pop Top Purse

August 13, 2009

Soda pop tops never looked so good with this trendy and eco-friendly purse. I can only imagine how many soda cans go to the waste dump each other without being recycled. At least this woman decided to reuse her soda cans for something positive – a stylish bag.

Keyboard Cufflinks

August 6, 2009

Via Future Home Design

I guess I’m on a repurposing trip because I found another great repurposed product. These cufflinks are made from old computer keys. I think you’d have to be a real geek to actually wear them with your button down shirt, but that’s neither here nor there. The point is that being eco-friendly is about being creative, like the woman who repurposed her shoe hanger as a planter below. Start thinking about ways you can reuse your household products!
