Plantic: The New Plastic
June 24, 2008If you’re interested in protecting the environment, then you’ve probably heard a lot about the horrors of plastic and plastic bags. However, you may have not heard of an upcoming solution: Plantic. Plantic is a starch-based, eco-friendly material that is currently being developed out of Australia. Plantic is not only made from renewable resources and biodegradable, but it also fully dissolves in water….you can even eat it if you really want to! Currently plantic is being used for various types of food crates (like Nestle’s latest Dairy Box chocolate range ) and more applications will probably emerge soon (such as plantic instead of plastic bags). Keep looking for more Plantic news, and in the mean while, avoid plastic.
